ACLS Fellowships: Advice from Winners at Liberal Arts Colleges
A presentation for liberal arts college faculty on funding programs available through the American Council of Learned Societies.

The presentation will center on advice from three ACLS Fellowship awardees from liberal arts institutions: Eduardo Moncada, assistant professor of political science at Barnard College; Christina Neilson, associate professor of Renaissance and Baroque art history at Oberlin College; and Brent Rodriguez-Plate, professor of religious studies and media studies at Hamilton College. All of our panelists received the award as untenured faculty.

Though a panel discussion, the fellows will offer overviews of their projects and how they approached the grant competition. We'll offer plenty of time for Q&A.

We hope that this discussion will help faculty members at liberal arts colleges get some advice on the ACLS Fellowship program from peers who have had success with the program. As you may know, the ACLS Fellowship is currently restricted to untenured faculty members who earned their PhDs no more than eight years ago. Since all of our panelists received the award as untenured faculty, we hope their advice will be particularly relevant to this year's applicant pool. We're also hoping to provide some opportunities for attendees to connect with fellow faculty at other institutions after the webinar.
